Alexis Carter Thomas

Rev. Alexis Carter Thomas is an ordained minister and ministry consultant. She earned a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School; and a Doctor of Ministry degree with a concentration in Women's Religious Leadership from Drew Theological School. Alexis’s professional experience includes work in higher education and congregational ministry. She has worked on five different college campuses in areas ranging from residential life to student affairs. From January 2021- January 2023, Alexis served as the Program Director for The Vinery, a Lilly Endowment Thriving Congregations Initiative, at Mere Christianity Forum where she worked with a dynamic team to develop a 24-month cohort experience that focuses on deep listening and purposeful design for dynamic congregational-based university ministry. Alexis enjoys writing non-fiction, taking long road trips, reading good literature, and having soul-stirring conversations over coffee or a good meal. Alexis is an associate chaplain at a liberal-arts university. She lives with her husband and son in a small town in South Carolina.
